That thing the nature of which is totally unknown to you is usually what you need to find, and finding it is a matter of getting lost.
Rebecca Solnit
I have always been in search of something. I do not know the nature of this ‘thing’ – I only know my feeling of something missing. As a result, my practice is consciously open and exploratory, and fuelled by my research interests in exploration of terrae incognitae, existential migration and notions of artists and scientists as explorers.
In my work and research, I explore different responses to a universal feeling of longing, recognised by searches such as explorers, scientists and artists alike. By embracing the idea of being lost, I hope to understand the root of the longing itself.
