First five minutes of the 58:30-long video portrait and experiment.
Taking 53:30 a step further, I set myself the task of trying to stare into an infrared camcorder for the duration of one DV tape. The recording took place in a pitch black, empty room, where I could only see a spot of red light. During the recording, notions of absurdity became as apparent as a feeling of insecurity.
53:30 and 58:30 were exhibited at The Invigilators at the Mackintosh Museum, Glasgow School of Art, in 2012. The screens were installed at the opposite ends of the gallery, facing each other, with a distance of 20 metres from one another.
